Raymond James names Andrew Gitkin as co-head of health care investment banking

Raymond James named finance professional, Andrew Gitkin, as managing director and co-head of the firm’s health care investment banking practice, along side managing director, Riley Sweat.

Mr. Gitkin will focus on the life sciences and biotechnology sector, an area he has specialized in for the last 15 years. He joins Raymond James from Piper Jaffray, where he led the West Coast biotech investment banking practice. Prior to Piper, Mr. Gitkin was an investment banker with Moelis.

In a statement, Jim Bunn, president of Raymond James Global Equities and the investment-banking group, said Mr. Gitkin has built an exceptional reputation in the sector and is adept at delivering results to clients.

Mr. Gitkin said that over the last few years, both the Raymond James bankers and the equity research analysts have established a strong reputation in the life sciences area.

“Overall, [Raymond James] has built a powerful global banking platform that I am looking forward to leveraging on behalf of my clients … particularly in the important West Coast market,” he added.
