DarioHealth (NASDAQ:DRIO) has partnered with the Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultants of Pennsylvania, the clinical practice of Dr. Alan Schorr and Dr. Arvind Cavale, with expertise in incorporating state of the art technology in the treatment of people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Under the accord, the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System will be offered in their clinic, which provides a wide-range of treatment therapies for over 5,000 patients. The product was chosen because it is compact, accurate, and it has the ability for users and healthcare practitioners to simplify diabetes management via a smartphone.
“When I showed my patients how to use Dario, they immediately got it and I realized that this was going to be a game-changing device,” Dr. Schorr said in a statement. “Patient’s sugars and essential data are easy to understand, and patients are coming to the office more informed.”
He said his team is able to interpret the data and teach patients to improve their control of diabetes. “This is done in part because Dario simplifies the complexity of diabetes treatment and improves the quality of life for my patients,” he added. “The device is easy to maintain and does not require carrying multiple items, which is a major plus.”
Erez Raphael, chairman and CEO of DarioHealth, said the transaction is an important step in DarioHealth’s growth and market penetration as “we are planning to reach additional users through key opinion leaders and clinics. Partnering with such clinics will allow us to reach users in a faster and a more efficient manner.”
