Tekmira Pharmaceuticals (TSX:TKM) plans to apply to list its common shares on the Nasdaq stock market in the next few months.
“Many of our peers have securities listed in the U.S. and we believe doing so is a logical step in the evolution of Tekmira to be appropriately valued as a leader in the RNA interference field,” CEO Dr. Mark Murray said in a statement.
RNAi therapeutics have the potential to treat a broad number of human diseases by “silencing” disease-causing genes. Tekmira has its own RNAi drugs in development and is collaborating with a number of pharma industry leaders, using its stable nucleic acid-lipid particles (SNALP) delivery technology.
