Medicago (TSX:MDG) will present its Phase 1 clinical findings of the first plant-made influenza vaccine to be tested in humans at a meeting this week of the World Health Organization, evaluating pandemic influenza prototype vaccines in clinical trials.
“It is a privilege to be among a select group of leading vaccine companies invited to present clinical data at such an important meeting,” VP for product development Nathalie Landry said in a statement. ”This is a testament to the outstanding and innovative new products under development at Medicago in the area of vaccine development.”
Medicago recently reported positive interim results from a Phase 1 human clinical trial with its H5N1 avian influenza vaccine candidate. Based on these results, Medicago plans to proceed with a Phase 2 clinical trial.
