ProMetic to present at nephrology meeting

ProMetic Life Sciences (TSX:PLI) has been selected by the American Society of Nephrology to make three presentations about its PBI-1402 lead drug at the society’s annual meeting and scientific exposition in San Diego next week.

The drug is designed to treat anemia induced by cancer chemotherapy.  A phase Ib/II clinical trial demonstrated significant increases in hemoglobin and red blood cells as well as a reduced need for blood transfusion in patients, ProMetic said in a statement.

The presentations at the nephrology meeting will highlight some of PBI-1402 preclinical results.
