The fast growing specialty pharma is guiding to revenues of more than $100-million this year, compared with $82.7-million in 2008, CEO Jonathan Goodman, said in notes for a presentation at BioContact in Quebec City. He cited strong organic growth from new product launches including, Anacin/Anbesol, Dexedrine and Urocit-K.
Paladin, which focuses on acquiring or in-licensing innovative pharma products for the Canadian market, has a rich, near-term pipeline, with four products awaiting regulatory approval and eight products in clinical trials, Mr. Goodman pointed out.
A recent accord with GlaxoSmithKline to distribute Dexedrine, an anti-ADHD and narcolepsy drug, currently has an 11% share of the $137-million market. The drug is “non-promoted but will become the largest product by revenue,” he predicted. The accord also gives Paladin first right to partner with GSK for future products in the Canadian market, he said.
Paladin’s common shares trade on the TSX under the symbol ‘PLB’.
